Printhallen/3D printing service

3D printing service in Sweden, for individuals and businesses

Printhallen 3D prints your own model, for individuals and businesses anywhere in Sweden. Upload the file, choose material, colour and quantity, and see the exact price including VAT before you order. We print in Öjersjö, just outside Gothenburg, and send every order as a tracked parcel.

3D prints for individuals and businesses

Most of what we 3D print is something you cannot buy off the shelf: you upload a model, and we make it in the material and colour you choose, as a single piece or a small batch.

  • Spare parts and replacement parts for things that have broken or are no longer sold.
  • Holders and brackets made to fit your shelf, your bike or your machine.
  • Prototypes, to check shape and fit before you go further.
  • Figures, decorations and hobby accessories, in the colour you want.
  • Small batches of the same part, 1 to 20 copies on the site and more on a quote.

You need no 3D printer of your own and no software to prepare the file. If you would rather have something ready-made, we also sell 3D printed products in the shop, made the same way and in the colour you choose.

From file to finished 3D print in three steps

The whole order is placed on the order page, and you see the price before you decide.

  1. Upload your model. It is shown in 3D in your browser with its dimensions and volume, so you can see that the file is right.
  2. Choose material, colour and quantity. An approximate price appears straight away, and the exact price is normally ready within a minute. It holds for 7 days, VAT included.
  3. Pay at the checkout by card, Swish, Klarna, Apple Pay or Google Pay. We 3D print, check and ship, and we email you a tracking link once the parcel is on its way.

PLA or PETG

We print in two materials, and the choice comes down to what the print has to withstand rather than the price, which is about the same for both.

PLA is the choice for things that are meant to be seen: figures, decorative pieces, models with fine detail and prototypes that will sit on a desk. It reproduces detail sharply, has a smooth matt surface and comes in the most colours. PLA is stiff but does not take heat. It starts to soften at about 55 °C, so it belongs indoors and not in a car parked in the sun.

PETG is the choice for things that have to last: a bracket that carries something, a holder in the garage, a spare part in daily use. It is tougher than PLA and gives rather than snaps, takes heat up to about 70 °C and copes with moisture, sun and rain. The trade-off is a slightly glossier surface and a little less sharpness in the finest detail. Our guide PLA or PETG compares the materials in detail, and on the order page you can switch material and see what it does to the price.

What a 3D print costs

Every price is worked out for your file and the choices you make, and it is there before you add the print to your cart. What decides it is how many grams of material the print uses, support material included, the print time and the number of copies. Layer height and infill affect both, and the price updates as you change them. Colour costs nothing extra.

A small print does not cost much, and several copies of the same model bring the price per copy down. All prices include 25 % VAT, whether you order privately or for a business. You can order 1 to 20 copies online. If you need more, or the price cannot be calculated for your file, ask for a quote on the same page and we will reply with a fixed price. What different prints cost, with examples, is in our guide What does 3D printing cost?.

How we 3D print your model

Our prints are made on a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon, at the layer height you choose: 0.12, 0.20 or 0.28 mm. The standard is 0.20 mm and suits most things. A thinner layer smooths curved and sloping surfaces but takes longer, and a coarser one is quicker where the surface will not show.

A 3D print is built up layer by layer, and the layers show in the surface, mostly where it slopes or curves. Dimensions can differ slightly from the file, normally within 0.2 mm. Overhangs get support material where it is needed, and before a print is packed we remove the support material and look it over.

Delivery across Sweden

A custom print is made to order. We normally dispatch it within 7 days of payment, and delivery then normally takes 1 to 3 working days wherever in the country the parcel is going. Everything goes as a tracked parcel: smaller prints fit in your letterbox, larger ones go to a service point, a parcel locker or your door, and at the checkout you see the options with the price for your address. The tracking link comes by email once the parcel has been sent.

We make and ship from Öjersjö, just outside Gothenburg, and deliver within Sweden only. Shipping prices and delivery times in detail are on Shipping and delivery.

For businesses

Businesses order through the same checkout as private individuals, with the same payment methods and at the same price. Payment is made in advance, and VAT is itemised on the order confirmation.

Prototypes and small batches are ordered straight on the site, up to 20 copies of a file with the price up front. If you need more copies, several different parts or something that cannot be ordered on the site, we write an offer with a fixed price, which you pay at the checkout. Contact us with a description of what you need, ideally with material, colour and quantity, and we normally reply within 2 working days.

What we do not print

There are things a 3D print in PLA or PETG should not be used for, and we do not print them:

  • Safety-critical parts: anything that carries a load, protects someone or is connected to electricity, since a break could cause harm.
  • Anything that comes into contact with food, since the surface has grooves between the layers that cannot be washed clean.
  • Holders for live candles or anything else that gets hot, since both materials soften with heat.
  • Models you do not have the right to have printed. You are responsible for the licence allowing it.

Nor do we draw models to order: we print the file you upload. If you have no file, there are ready-made models on MakerWorld, Printables and other model sites, and our guide No 3D printer? shows where to find them, how to read the licence and what to download.

File formats and size

We accept STL, 3MF, STEP and OBJ. A file can be at most 50 MB and 5 million triangles, it should be drawn in millimetres, and the model can be no larger than 256 × 256 × 256 mm in one piece. The dimensions are shown as soon as the file is uploaded, so you can check that they are right before you order. A 3MF from Bambu Studio brings its settings into the order, and a STEP file from your CAD program is converted to a mesh before it is shown.

Which format suits when, and how to convert between them, is in our guide STL, 3MF, STEP or OBJ. If you just want to look at a file, see its dimensions or save it as STL, use our free STL viewer, where the file stays in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

FAQ

What is 3D printing?

3D printing means building an object layer by layer from molten plastic, straight from a digital model. We print with FDM, the most common 3D printing technique, in PLA and PETG. You need no 3D printer of your own, just a file with the model.

Can I order as a private individual?

Yes. Upload the file, see the price and pay at the checkout by card, Swish, Klarna, Apple Pay or Google Pay, as in any web shop. You can order a single copy, and a small print does not cost much.

How quickly will I get my print?

We normally dispatch a custom print within 7 days of payment, and delivery then normally takes 1 to 3 working days. Once the parcel has been sent you get a tracking link by email, and on your order page you follow the order from paid to shipped.

How large can a 3D print be?

At most 256 × 256 × 256 mm in one piece. If the model is larger you are told as soon as the file is uploaded, and you can ask for a quote instead.

Can you draw my model?

No. What we print is the file you upload, and we do not draw models to order. If you have no file, there are many ready-made models to download on MakerWorld, Printables and Thingiverse, most of them free, and if you want something of your own you can draw it in a CAD program or have someone draw it for you. Our guide No 3D printer? shows how.

Do you print for businesses?

Yes, through the same checkout and at the same price as for private individuals. Payment is made in advance, VAT is itemised on the order confirmation, and up to 20 copies are ordered straight on the site. Larger orders get an offer with a fixed price. Contact us and tell us what you need.
